I have been involved in energy-related research for the last 15 years, working with electric utilities and other partners around the world. My research focuses on the use of computers and artificial intelligence (AI) to support the design and operation of electric power grids and the integration of renewables and distributed energy resources. I also examine how weather affects the energy production and consumption patterns, and the integrity of the power delivery infrastructure. To tackle the complexity and uncertainty of modern distributed energy systems, I often employ high-performance computing and intelligent methods, including machine learning, evolutionary computing, and swarm systems. My current projects include forecasting of energy generation and demand, transactive energy markets, and AI-driven grid.
